Ever wanted to play in a Jazz group and Big Band and perform in the wonderful setting of St John’s University Chapel?

An exciting 3 day course between the 26th and 28th of March 2018.

The Jazzgodacademy workshops are designed to bring together students who love Jazz music and love performing aged between 7-80 years old. Jazzgodacademy will help develop ensemble skills, improvisation skills, confidence and general musicianship. Students will work in a band covering Jazz standards by their favourite composers or artists.

 On each day there will be an opportunity to perform in a big band with all the members of the workshop. Every afternoon there will be a workshop on improvisation to help further develop skills.

On the evening of the 28th of March you will perform at St Johns University Chapel in York.

This course is open to any instrument including: Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboard, Violin, Saxophone, Trumpet and Trombone. If you play an instrument, you will need to bring it with you. If you play Bass or Electric guitar you’ll also need to bring an amplifier. You will be assigned a band at the beginning of the course.
